ZeroBurn is a student-led social entrepreneurship project part of the University of Alberta Enactus group. Our aim is to promote sustainable agricultural practices by changing behaviours using education campaigns, repurposing agricultural waste, and providing affordable alternatives to unsustainable farming practices. We hope by the end of the year, to establish a product to be tested as a local pilot project that can then be applied to help farmers that do not have the necessary resources to halt unsustainable practices (like growing mushrooms to prevent stubble burning, for example). These viable, cost-effective alternatives in addition to educational training programs are key strategies to our long term plan.
